Management

In May 2015, Ketley Parish Council which at the time was negotiating to take on a 25 year lease of the Paddock Mound site, commissioned CFP to prepare a maintenance & management plan for the site for a five year period. CFP published their report in July 2015. This plan, and its accompanying action plan, is the basis on which work is undertaken – by contractors, such as those who recently removed trees along the Red Lees boundary by the round pool and growing in the canal pool and during Pals working parties and regular tasks where Jason and Mark give us great assistance

The action plan accompanying the management plan was updated in 2017, and briefly reviewed for actions already completed, in 2021 see below, and is now undergoing a full review. The result will be published on this website.

The management plan and resulting action plan are due to be updated. Paddock Mound is fortunate to be part of the Mercian Woodland Biodiversity Project, and an initial site assessment has been undertaken which will assist in revising the management plan for our Local Nature Reserve for the next five years.

In September 2015  Ketley Parish Council decided not to take up the lease of the site. A memorandum of understanding between Telford & Wrekin Council, Ketley Parish Council and Friends of Ketley Paddock Mound now exists for the maintenance and management of the site. Meetings of this K.P.M. Management Group are now held quarterly with all three parties represented.
